Prices, Engines & Trim Levels
Where the Model 3 distinguishes itself isn’t in the number of trims available but in how each variant brings a distinct personality on the road. Rather than thinking in terms of “good, better, best,” it’s more useful to consider how each version fits a different kind of driver. Prices currently start at around £39,990, rising to just under £60,000 for the most powerful versions.
The Rear-Wheel Drive model feels lightest on its feet. With a single motor producing around 283bhp powering the back axle, it offers a surprisingly natural balance for everyday driving. Real-world range sits comfortably around 200–250 miles, depending on conditions, giving city-focused drivers and shorter distance commuters more than enough headroom. With a 0–62mph time of roughly 6.1 seconds, it’s a version that rewards smoothness, encouraging a relaxed style that suits its quietly confident character.
Step into the Long Range AWD and the behaviour changes noticeably. The extra motor lifts total output to around 440bhp and introduces a sense of effortlessness that defines this model on the open road. Acceleration becomes more assertive without ever feeling aggressive, dropping the 0–62mph time to around 4.4 seconds, traction improves in wet UK winters and the real-world range stretches to 280–320 miles. On many A-roads and motorways, its efficiency allows you to watch the projected range fall so slowly that you begin to trust it more than you trust traditional fuel gauges.
At the top sits the Performance variant, a car that seems almost amused by its own capability. With around 510bhp, a 0–62mph time of approximately 3.1 seconds and uprated brakes and suspension, it turns the Model 3 into a genuinely fast sports saloon, delivering acceleration that simply doesn’t feel possible from something this calm and minimalist. Yet it comes with compromises: the firmer suspension and higher appetite for energy reduce real-world range to around 260–280 miles, making it feel more specialised — a car chosen for driver enjoyment rather than balanced everyday use.
