Prices, Engines & Trim Levels
The Kia Niro EV is priced to sit comfortably between smaller electric crossovers and larger family SUVs. As of 2025, new models typically start at around £37,000, with higher specifications pushing prices toward £41,000–£42,000.
Unlike some rivals, the Niro EV range is deliberately straightforward in its mechanical setup. All versions use a 64.8kWh battery paired with a single electric motor driving the front wheels. This keeps the driving experience consistent across the range and avoids the complexity of multiple powertrain options.
Trim levels are where differentiation comes in. The range usually begins with Niro EV 2, which already includes dual digital displays, adaptive cruise control, climate control, rear parking sensors and a comprehensive suite of safety systems. Step up to Niro EV 3, and you gain larger alloy wheels, additional comfort features and enhanced interior finishes.
At the top sits Niro EV 4, which adds heated and ventilated seats, a premium audio system, advanced driver assistance features and more sophisticated interior materials. This trim gives the Niro EV a noticeably more upmarket feel, narrowing the gap to premium-branded alternatives without pushing pricing into luxury territory.
Compared with rivals like the Hyundai Kona Electric or Peugeot e-2008, the Niro EV focuses less on variety and more on consistency, offering one well proven electric setup wrapped in varying levels of comfort and technology.
