Prices, Engines & Trim Levels
The new Mercedes GLC Electric arrived in 2026, with UK prices starting at approximately £55,495 for the GLC 250 Electric Sport. That places it among the more expensive family electric SUVs, although its size, technology and luxury equipment bring it into direct competition with premium models from BMW, Audi and Volvo.
The entry-level GLC 250 Electric uses a single rear-mounted motor producing 349bhp, or 354 metric horsepower, with an 85kWh usable battery. Acceleration from 0–62mph takes 5.9 seconds, while official WLTP range reaches 389 miles. In everyday UK conditions, approximately 290–340 miles should be achievable, depending on weather, speed and driving style.
That's an impressive combination for the least expensive version. Acceleration is strong, motorway performance is confident and the battery provides enough range for substantial journeys without frequent charging stops.
The GLC 400 4MATIC introduces a second electric motor and all-wheel drive, increasing output to 483bhp. Its larger 94kWh usable battery provides up to 405 miles of official range, with real-world expectations of approximately 310–360 miles in favourable conditions. Acceleration to 62mph takes just 4.3 seconds, making it considerably quicker than the standard model.
A GLC 300 4MATIC has also joined the wider European range, producing approximately 416bhp from two motors and using the 85kWh battery. It sits between the 250 and 400 in performance, although UK ordering and specification availability should be checked separately.
UK trim levels include Sport, AMG Line, AMG Line Premium, AMG Line Premium Plus and Premier Edition, depending on drivetrain.
The Sport includes an extensive equipment list, with large alloy wheels, a panoramic roof, heated seats, a digital instrument display and modern driver-assistance technology.
AMG Line adds sportier exterior styling, larger wheels on some configurations, upgraded interior detailing and more supportive seats. It gives the GLC a stronger appearance without making the suspension unnecessarily firm.
The Premium versions introduce more elaborate technology, including the enormous MBUX Hyperscreen, upgraded audio and additional comfort equipment. Premium Plus adds further luxury features, while the Premier Edition includes distinctive design details and a particularly generous specification.
Prices rise considerably as you move through the range, with well-equipped versions exceeding £70,000.
The GLC 250 AMG Line offers a particularly attractive combination. It has more than enough power for everyday use, excellent range and much of the interior quality that makes the GLC desirable. The 400 4MATIC is impressively quick, but the additional performance is unlikely to be essential for most owners.
